Imanis was founded in 2012 by doctors Stephen Russell, Kah-Whye Peng, and Michael O’Connor, Professors at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. As Director of the new virus and gene therapy program at Mayo, Dr. Russell, with the help of Dr. Peng, had built the Department of Molecular Medicine and become known internationally for bench to clinical translation of oncology virotherapies. Their expertise in virus and vector discovery research and clinical translation formed the deeply scientific foundation of Imanis.
We opened our first laboratory space in 2014, in downtown Rochester, building a small catalog of products and offering unique contract research services. As the team grew, we moved to our current laboratory space in the Rochester Technology Campus in early 2019. With the continued demand for contract research services, our lab space and scientific team have continued to expand over the years.
Imanis operates at the intersection of contract research science and novel, specialized products. Our specific focus on virus, gene, and cell therapies for immuno-oncology sets us apart from generalist research organizations. With unique expertise in optimizing, characterizing, and translating vector therapeutics, we offer customers access to scientific expertise that larger CROs can’t match. Our engineered tumor cell lines and propriety lentiviral vector targeting platforms, provide customers with cutting edge solutions for their research.
Our state-of-the-art labs in Rochester, MN, contain all the dedicated instrumentation to support the full spectrum of preclinical research from early in vitro discovery through in vivo preclinical studies. By merging scientific excellence with cutting edge technologies and modern lab spaces, we prioritize excellence and adaptability.
