CD20

CD20 is a B lymphocyte cell-surface molecule encoded by the MS4A1 gene. It is expressed primarily on the surface of B cells at various developmental stages, including pre-B cells, mature B cells, activated B cells, and memory B cells, while expression is lost on plasmablasts and plasma cells. The precise function of CD20 is not well understood, but it appears to play a role in regulation of B cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation.

Since CD20 is expressed on B cells from early development through plasma cell differentiation, it is an attractive therapeutic target for malignant or pathogenic B cells in diseases such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis. Therapies targeting CD19 and CD20 for treatment of various cancers are currently under various stages of development.

Imanis offers tumor cell line models for studies of CD20-positive cancers and CD20-targeted therapies (alone or in combination with CD19). These models have characterized CD20 expression combined with stable reporter expression for cell tracking in vivo. Additionally, CD20 cell panels include CD20 positive and CD20 negative cell lines on the same cell background for controlled experiments in vitro or in vivo.
